Sophia is a humanoid robot developed by Hanson Robotics,she has been designed to learn and adapt to human behaviour and work with human.

Sophia has AI (Artificial Intelligence), visual data processing, and facial recognition.

Sophia also imitates human gestures and facial expressions and is able to answer certain questions and make simple conversations on predefined topics.

The so called ‘Rise of the machines’ has started, and it looks like obtaining citizenship is the first step.

Sophia has made history, as it becomes the first ever to be granted a full Saudi Arabian citizenship.

Developed by AI specialists, David Hanson of Hanson Robotics, Sophia’s appointment was made public during the ‘Future Investment’ held in the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh.

The move ,meanwhile, is the country’s way of promoting the development of robotics and AI.

Sophia took to the stage of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to share a joke or two with the comedian, the AI program analyses conversations and extracts data that allows Sophia to improve responses in the future.

Ghana Health Ministry Set To Commence Recruitment of Nurses and Midwives.

Ministry of Health says from November 10th will begin the recruitment of private and public trained nurses who graduated from health training institutions in 2019.

This was statement issued on Thursday and sealed by the Chief Director, Kwabena Oku-Afari, stated that “Degree and Diploma nurses and midwives from both private and public health institutions as well as Certificate nurses from only public institutions qualify to apply to be employed.”

Applicants must be permanently registered members of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) of Ghana.

Qualified applicants are required to formally apply to the Ministry of Health via its online application portal and follow the prompts to choose their preferred agency under the Ministry.

The Health Ministry cautioned applicants to be wary of fraudsters, adding that the entire process of application is cost-free.

“The public is kindly informed that the Ministry of Health does not charge money for recruitment and postings. Therefore, all applicants are advised not to make any payment for this recruitment and whoever pays, does so at their own risk.”

“Any person who demands money should be reported to the Chief Director of the Ministry,” the statement directed.

The deadline for the submission of the applications is Friday, November 19, 2021.

Side Effects Of Drinking Cold Water.

Many people prefer drinking very cold water( refrigerated water). This is by far more appealing to us than ordinary water because of our climate.



This article wants to look into the effect of refrigerated water on our health. We need enough water to keep our systems working. Our skin, eyes, brain, digestive and excretory systems needs water.



So the issue of whether we need to be hydrated always is not the discussion, but should we be drinking water from the fridge always? What happens to our body when we drink very cool water?



1. It decreases the heart rate.
According to guardian.ng, drinking very cold water decreases the heart rate and stimulates the vagus nerve. This nerve is the nerve that controls the involuntary functions of the body.

As the vagus nerve is affected by the temperature of the water you drink, the heart rate temporarily slows down, until the body temperature reaches an equilibrium again. This process affects the heart temporary.



2. It may cause constipation.
Food hardens naturally as it enters the body. In the same way cold water causes the intestines to contract. The simultaneous contraction of the intestines with the hardening of food that enters the body may cause constipation.

For better digestion, it is better to drink water that has room temperature than ice water. Ice water is better to be taken when the weather is very hot than as a regular drink.

3. May cause headache in people with migraines.
Studies have shown that drinking chilled water may stimulate headache in people suffering from migraines.

Chilled water may affect many blood vessels in the spine and they immediately sends these waves to the brain causing headache especially in people with migraines.



4 May affect the metabolism of fats.
Drinking chilled water affect a meal may affect the metabolism of fats. Naturally, it is not very healthy to driñk water while you are eating. It is better to drink water some minutes after your meal.

When you drink chilled water while eating foods containing saturated fats, the fats may begin to congeal while still undigested. This may affect the digestion of the fats consumed.



5. May cause cold or Flu in people with weak immune system.
Sometimes our immune system may be compromised due to weather conditions or when you are recovering from illness or any other conditions. In such situation, drinking very cold water may stimulate cold or flu.



6. May reduce the release of cytokines chemicals that improve immune response to the body.

Nigerian Woman Gives Birth To Quadriplet After 11 Years Of Marriage.

Louis and Lucy Agada, a Nigerian couple have given birth to quadriplet after 11 years without a child.

Lucy who was wed by Louis on April 17,2010 gave birth to the children, 2 boys and 2 girls on Wednesday night, October 20,2021.

Louis Agada’s brother, Like Agada wrote on facebook;

“A big miracle to my brother, Luis Agada and his wife Lucy Agada for the safe delivery of 4 babies (Quadriplet)!!! 2 boys and 2 girls last night”.

Woman Confined for Knifing Mother for alleging Marrying her spiritually.

A 24-year-old woman had been handed over to the police by an Adenta circuit court for stabbing her mother whom she claimed was spiritually married to her.
The accused name withheld stabbed her 46-year-old single mother in the hand, neck, and back severally on basis that her mother was having sex with her.

Not satisfied, the accused stabbed the mother again on the neck from her back and the kitchen knife she used broke and got stuck in the neck.

It was the shouts of the victim, which attracted people to the scene and she (the victim) was rescued.

The victim was rushed to the Abokobi Health Centre and later to the 37 Military Hospital where is currently on admission.

Charged with causing unlawful harm, accused has had her plea reserved by the court presided over by Mrs Sedinam Awo Balokah.

Accused is expected to reappear on November 16.

Prosecuting Superintendent of Police, Patience Mario narrated that the complainant is a business man residing at Abladjei, near Abokobi.

Superintendent of Police Mario said the victim is a trader residing at Kokrobite and accused was unemployed residing with the victim.

According to Prosecution, the accused has been residing with the victim since her infancy together with her brother. The victim has been a single parent who had taken care of the accused and her brother after their father abandoned them.

The Prosecutor narrated that the victim later had a boyfriend who reside at Abokobi.

Supt. Mario said within the month of October, the victim visited her boyfriend and she brought along the accused.

On their arrival, they met the absence of the victim’s boyfriend because he had travelled to Takoradi in the Western Region.

Prosecution said on October 27, this year, a misunderstanding ensued between the victim and the accused.

The accused alleged that Victim has married her spiritually and was having sex with her.

Benin, a West African country has become the latest and current country to make abortion a legal practice in their country.

Teenage pregnancy was the major factor that brought up this whole legalisation of abortion, which is making high number of children not being taken care of properly after birth.

Many are keen to give birth or have a baby, there are others too who are not ready for it but still engage in the act ( sex ) and ending up getting rid of the end product ( baby ).

There were others who were against the bill and of the view that teenage pregnancy is not enough reason to legalised abortion.

The bill was passed after a heated argument in Parliament.

Records indicate about 200 women die each year as a result of abortion and its complications, yet such bill has been passed legal.

Robber Climbs Electric Pole To Avoid Heavy Beatings And Arrest; Was There Over For 9 Hours Now (Photos)

A man in his early thirtys has been stuck on an electric pole since Thursday morning.

Some social media comments suggest that the unidentified man skilfully climbed the pole for safety after being caught in the act of stealing a mobile phone, menstrual pad and money from a trader in a busy market some where in the country.

According to information, he received some heavy beatings from the men but managed to escape from their hands after some time.

He was however ‘conquered’ on a busy street near the market the thievery is said to have taken place.

A thief was caught and smartly climb the pole. For about nine hours now he is not down and we are still waiting for him’, a social media post said.
